LINCOLN CENTER PREVIEW
THE 99: UNBOUND
LINCOLN CENTER
On October 1, a capacity crowd filled the Lincoln Center theatre to view the first American showing of THE 99: Unbound. The New York Film Festival special feature presentation was followed by an interview with Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, creator of THE 99, by Film Society of Lincoln Center’s director, Richard Pena. Questions about the film and its future came from an admiring audience of film buffs and NY press, many of whom brought their delighted children to share THE 99.

The critics agreed:

“THE 99 demonstrates exciting storytelling with intellectual depth, a perfect mingling of entertainment and edification.”

“The story of THE 99’s initial successes, near catastrophes, and eventual rebirth makes for fascinating viewing…Naif Al-Mutawa may not be a superhero, but as far as this documentary goes, he is hero enough.”
