We don’t usually respond to our critics but this unsolicited editorial cartoon came our way from Katie Miranda (katiemiranda.com) after the Pamela Geller/Andrea Peyser duo offered their lockstep response to THE99: Unbound at the NY Film Festival and WHAM! BAM! ISLAM! on PBS. Geller, who the NY Times described as a favorite of Anders Behring Breivik, the alleged Norway mass murderer, operates the Atlas Shrugs website. Geller is a NY Post columnist known for her negative comments on Islam in America. What Geller/Peyser have in common is their shared crusade to keep THE 99 off American television. Neither has ever seen an episode of what they call an attempt to convert our children to sharia law. Recently, I offered Ms. Peyser a private screening of THE 99: Unbound but she declined. While fair-minded readers may dismiss the Geller/Peyser crusade as Islamic fear mongering, the fact remains that THE 99 has yet to reach American television audiences except in Isaac Solotaroff’s fine documentary, WHAM!
